Message from Wealden District Council:

Please see web page for Bus Service updates here: Changes

Timetable updates are made by bus operators, usually twice a year. Changes may be made to routes, frequency and to improve punctuality.

For the most up to date information, always check with the bus company.

Most changes will take effect from 12th April 2026, although some will begin from different dates.

The service reductions are mainly due to the cut in national government funding East Sussex County Council has received compared to our Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding award for 2022-2026. Bus operating costs have also risen significantly since the BSIP funding was awarded, so we are unable to support as many services as before.

The service improvements in 2023 (increased frequency, evening services, Sunday services and route extensions) were subject to sufficient funding being available, unless patronage and fares income was able to grow sufficiently to enable bus operators to run services were able to run commercially without government support.
