Four 7 day speed/volume surveys will be carried out from Thursday 10/07/2025 at the locations indicated in red on the map plus there is a need for an additional speed survey within the centre of the village on The Street. These surveys will help assess whether current vehicle speeds align with the speed limit policy, which considers factors such as vulnerable road users, the road's character and environment, as well as the existing traffic speeds.

The point of the traffic surveys is to show that the average speed is less than 24mph. This is a requirement for the introduction of a 20mph speed limit undder ESCC’s policy. We were not intending to instal traffic calming measures, but looking for the matched funding for the cost of the introduction of a 20mph speed limit in Ripe.
