The official VJ flag is flying over Ripe and also at Deanland.

Flags were installed by Councillor Nicholas Hamblin and Mr Stoner of Deanland Wood Park.

The occasion pays tribute to the service and sacrifice of those who served in the Far East during the Second World War and recognises the vital contributions of today's Armed Forces community. Flags are proudly flying as a mark of respect for veterans, serving personnel and their families.
